Balcony glazing is designed and manufactured in Taipalsaari to the measurements of your balcony. In older buildings the railing height, the shape of the ceiling and the alignment of the structures all vary, so the measuring is always done on site before anything is made.

The panes are tempered safety glass and the profiles are aluminium. The panes turn aside into a stack, so the balcony is open in summer and sheltered in autumn. Design, manufacture and installation come from the same team.

Do I need a permit for balcony glazing?

In a housing company you normally need the housing company’s permission, and in many municipalities also an action permit or an action notification. Check the current practice with your local building control before starting the project.

Does balcony glazing heat the balcony?

Balcony glazing is not thermal insulation, but it reduces the effect of the wind and keeps the temperature on the balcony steadier than outdoors. That is why the usable season is longer in spring and autumn.

Can the glazing be opened completely?

Yes. The panes turn aside into a stack, so in summer the balcony is effectively open. The position of the stack is planned according to the shape of the balcony.

What is the difference between Essential and Select?

All our balcony glazing is frameless, so the difference is in the materials and the features. Essential is the clean-lined basic model, and Select is made from higher-grade materials.
