iiCi sliding glass

An open view and a maintenance-free structure

iiCi sliding glass is an elegant glazing that allows an almost unobstructed view with no vertical frames. The adaptable glazing shelters the space from rain, wind and dust, and the seals keep water and snow outside. iiCi sliding glass and JOKKE balcony glazing are part of Terassimaailma’s range. The frameless iiCi sliding glass system was brought to the market in 2014.

The product is maintenance-free: no lubricants are used in the glazing – washing is enough. Dust-protected bearings sit inside the top profile, sheltered from sand and dirt carried in underfoot, so the glass panels run reliably and lightly year after year.

iiCi sliding glass is versatile: it suits terraces, balconies and room dividers indoors. It complements our terrace glazing and balcony glazing when you want the view to stay as open as possible.

Examples of panel layouts

There are many glazing options, and the layout is always designed to suit the space. For example, a 4000 mm glazing width can be built with four panels of about 1000 mm, giving a 2000 mm opening – or with three panels of about 1300 mm, giving an 1100 mm opening.

JOKKE balcony glazing

JOKKE balcony glazing is a Finnish product that has been manufactured since 2007. Thanks to a patented feature, the glazing is maintenance-free and exceptionally watertight. The frameless, lightly sliding and sturdy structure withstands harsh changes in the weather, wind and storms.

JOKKE balcony glazing has been tested at VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland and complies with the official regulations. Depending on the site, 6, 8 or 10 mm tempered Finnish safety glass is used, and the aluminium frame structures come from a Finnish manufacturer. The glazing suits apartment buildings, detached houses and terraced houses: it adds usable space in every season, shelters the interior and the structures from the weather, and increases the value of the home. In Finland, the installation work qualifies for the household expenses tax credit (kotitalousvähennys) when the resident orders the work for their own home – glazing commissioned by the housing company is not eligible; the amount and conditions vary from year to year, so check the current rules with the Finnish Tax Administration.

Using and caring for JOKKE balcony glazing

JOKKE balcony glazing is easy to use. Here are a few tips to make opening and closing the panels even more pleasant.

Opening the first panel

  1. Start at the end of the glazing where the cord of the top lock is.
  2. Slide the bottom lock in the direction of the arrow to the opening.
  3. Pull the cord gently to release the top lock and open the panel.

Opening the other panels

  1. Slide the next panel close to the one already opened.
  2. Place your hand on the edge of the panel at about half its height.
  3. Push the panel next to the opened one.
  4. Open the panel by holding on to its edge.

Securing the panels against the wall

  1. Turn as many panels as you like against the side wall of the balcony.
  2. Fit the holder of the strap lock around the bottom wheel.

The panels are closed in the reverse order. A tip: the cord of the top lock is easy to shorten temporarily by winding it up to a suitable length and locking it into the notch of the pull knob.

The glazing is a maintenance-free product – cleaning is all it needs, and no lubricants are required.
