Designed for Finnish conditions

A glazed terrace shelters and opens the view

Terassimaailma’s glazing solutions are designed and manufactured in Taipalsaari, Finland. Every installation is tailored to the structures of your home, the way you use the space and what you’d like.

The key materials are tempered glass and aluminium. The frame can be aluminium or wood, depending on the home. Carefully chosen materials and a tidy installation make the finished glass terrace long-lasting and a natural match for the building.

Choose terrace glazing when you want to

  • shelter the terrace from rain, wind and windblown debris
  • extend the outdoor season from spring until late autumn
  • keep natural light and an open view

A terraced-house patio got its glazing

In Myrskylä, the resident of a terraced house built the timber-framed patio themselves, and Terassimaailma added the glazing. Once the frame is ready, the glazing is sized to it – the series shows the starting point, the frame going up and the finished glazed terrace.

What determines the price of terrace glazing?

The price of terrace glazing is always calculated per project, because every delivery is made to measure. The price depends on factors such as:

  • the size of the glazed space and the amount of glass

Glazing options

A structure that fits your home

We choose how the glazing works based on how the terrace or balcony is used and what look suits the building.

TM Terrace Essential

A structure with vertical frames is rigid and stands up well to frequent use. The frame clearly separates the glass elements from each other.

  • practical for glazing that is opened often
  • a firm, clean-lined structure
  • always sized to fit your home

TM Terrace Select

A frameless solution keeps the view as open as possible and suits minimalist architecture. The way the glazing opens is designed around the space. The familiar iiCi sliding glass is now part of the TM Select family. Read more about frameless iiCi sliding glass.

  • the most unobstructed view possible
  • a light, modern look
  • also available with pivoting glass panels

Glass roof

A glass roof brings natural light onto the terrace and shelters the space from rain. The structure is designed for the site and the regional snow load. See also TM Roof Select roof glazing, installed from below the glass.

  • a bright weather shelter
  • site-specific structural design
  • a unified look together with the glazing

Balcony glazing

Balconies have a range of their own: frameless TM Balcony Essential and TM Balcony Select. The solution is fitted to the existing structures. Read more about balcony glazing.

  • extra shelter in variable weather
  • easy to open when you want fresh air
  • a finish that suits the building

Frequently asked questions about terrace glazing

Clear answers help you compare the options before design work begins.

What are the benefits of terrace glazing?

Terrace glazing shelters the terrace from rain, wind and windblown debris. It extends the outdoor season and makes furniture and surfaces easier to keep clean.

Framed or frameless sliding glass?

Framed sliding glass is a rigid and hard-wearing solution. Frameless glazing keeps the view as open as possible. The right option is chosen based on how the space is used and the building itself.

Is the glass roof designed for snow load?

Yes – the glass roof and its structure are always designed for the conditions of the site and the regional snow load.

How much does terrace glazing cost?

The price of terrace glazing is always calculated per project: it depends on the size of the space, the choice between a framed and a frameless structure and whether a glass roof is included. For an exact price, request a quote for your home.

Do I need a permit for terrace glazing?

Permit requirements vary by municipality in Finland: some municipalities require an action permit or an action notification for terrace glazing, others require neither. Check the current practice with your local building control before starting the project.

Where is Terassimaailma’s glazing manufactured?

Terassimaailma’s glazing solutions are designed and manufactured in Taipalsaari, South Karelia, for Finnish weather conditions.

Signature

One site. One solution.

Signature comes about when a ready-made solution is not what the site calls for – when the solution is designed on the site’s own terms.

Every Signature is unique. It can be an entirely one-of-a-kind whole in which the design, the materials and the finish come together on that particular site.

Terassimaailma’s highest level of quality, for the sites where the ordinary is not enough.

No compromises.
